How does it work?
1. Tell us your story
We begin with a relaxed conversation and some questions about the two of you.
Nothing complicated.
We want to discover the details that make your relationship different from everyone else’s.
2. Choose the feeling
Tell us the type of music you enjoy and how you want your song to feel.
Romantic?
Joyful?
Emotional?
Fun?
Gentle and intimate?
Something that gradually builds?
You don’t need to know musical terminology. Simply tell us what you like and we’ll work through it together.
3. We develop your song
We use your story, creative direction, lyrics and modern music-production tools to develop an original song specifically for you.
We can work with you on the feel, structure and important parts of the story before the final version is completed.
4. Make it first-dance ready
If the song is being created for your first dance, we can tailor its structure and length to suit.
Most couples don’t need to dance through a four or five-minute song.
A beautifully structured two to three-minute first dance can often have far more impact.
5. Bring the song to life
You can simply take your finished song away and use it on your wedding day, or combine it with private Wedding Dance NZ lessons and we can create a dance specifically for it.

What if we already have a special song?
That’s completely okay.
Sometimes a particular song is connected to an important moment in your relationship, but the lyrics aren’t quite right for a wedding.
Rather than copying or rewriting somebody else’s protected song, we can use the emotion, musical direction and story you love as a starting point for creating something original that is genuinely yours.
And sometimes, after talking it through, we’ll tell you that the song you already have is perfect exactly as it is.
The aim isn’t to create a new song just for the sake of it.
It’s to help you find the music that feels right when you stand together for that first dance.
